The
Nordic Barn at Topnotch maintains a vast and varied network
of cross-country ski trails. Thirty kilometers of trails wind
their way through the foot-hills of the surrounding Green
Mountains, including easy cruisers like Sidewinder and Arthur's
Way. Our trail system also connects to Trapp Family Lodge,
Stowe Mountain Resort, Edson Hill and the Stowe Recreation
Path, opening up an additional 100 kilometers of maintained
trails. Cross-country ski lessons and backcountry ski tours
are available daily at the Nordic Barn.
Alpine Skiing
Come and see why Stowe is known as the "Ski Capital of the
East". People from many places choose to ski and ride at Stowe
for many reasons. Reasons like 48 legendary trails offering
48 totally different experiences and the longest length in
New England. Stowe is the perfect place to learn to ski or
improve your techinque. Stowe boasts one of North America's
top 10 ski and snowboard schools.
Sleigh Rides
Charlie Horse Sleigh Rides will take you back in time on a
journey in an open sleigh harnessed with spirited sleigh horses.
The horses will carry you through a covered bridge on a winding
wooded trail, along an open brook and then out into a meadow
trail with spectacular views of Mount Mansfield and Spruce
Peak. Day and evening sleigh rides available.
Snow Shoeing
Not a skier? Take advantage of the brisk, Vermont air on a
pair of snowshoes. All of the Nordic Barn's thirty kilometers
of trails are open to snowshoeing. The Spa at Topnotch offers
guided snowshoe tours all winter long.
Snowmobiling
Experience the thrill of cruising through fresh powder in
the pristine forest of beautiful Stowe. For the beginner to
expert, Stowe Snowmobile Tours takes you over miles of trails
through snow-covered, blue spruce woods. Treat yourself to
an adventure and experience back-country Vermont in its prime
winter season.

The
North Face will open a two-level retail store in New
York City this spring, featuring the company's new concept
prototype designed to personify 
THE
NORTH FACE brand and its heritage of outdoor
exploration. The store, which will contain approximately
8,000 square feet of selling space with a grand staircase
connecting the two levels, will be located in the historic
Ansonia building at 2101 Broadway. The North Face will begin
construction of the interior space this month and said it
will retain the building's early 20th century architecture.
The store will be the company's seventh full-price retail
store nationwide and its first in New York City.
